Steff Farrar

Board Member

Steff Farrar joined the Board of Autism Society Ventura County in June 2026. She is an animation industry professional, educator, program leader, and advocate with more than 25 years of experience spanning animation production, arts education, workforce development, curriculum design, and nonprofit leadership.

Most recently, Steff served as Director of Studio Programs – Animation at Exceptional Minds, where she employed and worked alongside autistic artists and young adults to build pathways from education into professional animation careers. During her five years with the organization, she developed and led vocational and studio programs, mentored artists, built accessible systems for professional development and employment, and managed animation teams and productions. She is now the founder of Slow Line Art Room, a neurodivergent-affirming online art and traditional animation program designed for teens and young adults who may not thrive in conventional learning environments.

Steff's connection to the autism community has grown through years of working directly with autistic students, artists, professionals, and their families. She is especially passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for autistic people beyond childhood—including education, creative expression, employment, community participation, and greater independence—and about helping build communities in which neurodivergent people are supported as individuals. 

Through ASVC, Steff hopes to contribute her experience in program development, education, advocacy, creative industries, and community building while continuing to learn directly from Ventura County's autistic community about where support and opportunity are most needed.

Outside of work, Steff is a lifelong artist and animator who loves drawing and painting, building live terrariums, and desert camping, supporting her son through university and spending time with her husband and their very energetic pup, Rango.
